The room was comfortable, however, the parking fees are excessive, and when booking it wasn't made clear that part of the day of checkout would be charged in addition to the 2 days booked. Not impressed at all. wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

The hotel placement is good as it is in the city center. I think the rooms are quite high for the price. I didn't have a good sleep as the blanket is itchy and the doona has no cover. I don't know how the staff didn't ever bother to put a cover in it. The pillows are super soft feels like nothing.

We are glad to hear that you found our hotel's location convenient and central to the city center. However, we are sorry to hear that your overall experience was not entirely satisfactory.

We apologize for the discomfort caused by the bedding in your room. Our housekeeping team should ensure that all bedding is clean, comfortable, and properly covered to provide our guests with a restful night's sleep. Our beds do not come with a doona cover, as it's wrapped in between two sheets.
Furthermore, we apologize if the pillows provided were not to your preference. We understand that pillow preferences vary among guests, and we will take your feedback into consideration to provide a more diverse selection of pillows in the future.

Rydges is a well-known name and we expected quality. We didn’t get it. We stayed for 2 nights. On arrival there was only one person at the front desk checking people in (around 3pm which would certainly be known to be a busy time). The room itself was clean and well presented.

The amenities were average. Just regular TV channels. No additional channels or options for movies or connecting to my own streaming services. There was no hand soap provided, we ended up using our own. There were large bottles of shampoo, conditioner and body wash in the shower but the only other toiletries provided were 3 sanitary bags and a shower cap. No face washers were provided, just towels, 1 hand towel & a bath mat. The shower had visible black mould and looked like it needed attention.

Parking was not included in our stay and would come at a massive $27 a day for a car park that was not even undercover. We were offered a heavily discounted rate for pre-booked buffet breakfast. We came to understand the reason for this was probably that if people didn’t pre-book and pay they wouldn’t come back after the first experience. The selection was basic and some of the food just wasn’t cooked well or looked very unappetising.

Staff were friendly but I wouldn’t say the service was outstanding in any way. It was just the basic conversations you need to have to be admitted to the hotel or into the dining area.

Sadly, I couldn’t recommend staying here and would not want to return.

Room tip: You’re better off just parking on the street considering the cost. Don’t pre-book & pay for breakfast. It’s not worth it.

We are sorry to hear about the inconvenience you experienced during check-in, at the time of your check in we did have two staff however the second staff had to run up to a room and help another guest.

Regarding the room amenities, we apologize for the oversight in providing hand soap and face washers. Our supplier unfortunately wasn't able to provide us with the hand soaps for the rooms in time. With the face washers, we do not have them in the rooms however can be supplied on request. Your feedback regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of the shower will be passed on to our housekeeping team for immediate attention and improvement.

We also apologize for any disappointment with the parking fees and breakfast experience. We understand that additional charges can be frustrating, and we will review our pricing and offerings to provide better value for our guests. Your comments about the buffet breakfast selection and quality will also be shared with our restaurant .

We strive to provide exceptional service to all our guests, and we will use your feedback to further train our team members and improve the overall guest experience.

I was so surprised at how great this hotel was. From the moment I walked in the reception staff were great. My room was lovely. The bed so incredibly comfortable, room was a great size and a mini bar with adequate drinks and goodies. My favourite part of this hotel was the wonderful bar and restaurant. I was visiting my sick, elderly mum in Ballarat and returning home to eat every night was such a treat. The Bar manager Supon makes the absolute best Dry Martini. I was hooked. The food was beautifully presented and so delicious. Breakfast was a bargain for the price with a fresh juicer available and healthy breakfast choices as well as the usual. Checkout was smooth and wonderfully looked after by Raph. I will definitely return to this great hotel when I am in the area again. Check my pictures for delicious meal photos....Car parking is outdoors and you can probably park in the street without the cost.

Room tip: Stay here as the cost and quality is the best.....

There are a couple of areas in which Rydges Geelong can improve. The TV wasn't plugged in in the room, so I had to try and move furniture to figure out where to plug it in. The breakfast dining area had a sign saying "Please wait to be seated" but there was no one there to seat you at a table. I also had to ask for a face washer as apparently that is only upon request that that is provided.
