Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful old building. Sitting next to the open fire on a cold wet evening in Bendigo was great. However, the wines were very expensive so we had a cocktail each - ranging from $18-22 each.

It didn’t start well. I had booked a table but we were met with no tables available. Surely you start with have you made a booking? So a frosty reception.
We ordered wine & food. The wine arrived quickly, the food not. We waited 45 mins for my partner to be served & 1 hour for my meal to appear - ie we were unable to eat together.
And the service - frosty.
I cannot recommend this bar/restaurant though the gods when it finally arrived was very good.
A pity about the service - we won’t be back.

We had a good meal at this lovely old building - great atmosphere , toasty warm on a cold night- good food , wine and service.

An improvement since our last visit. The setting is excellent situated in the centre of Bendigo’s tourist precinct. The staff were friendly and efficient in contrast to or last visit. The food was still disappointing with a lukewarm coffee and a tough steak sandwich.

Tiny glasses of sparkling Shiraz but nevertheless good. Charcuterie board was more board than charcuterie. Won’t be coming back
