There has been much conjecture about the future of this period building but one must pay some gratitude to the turnaround this building has made - It's gone from a squatters run down paradise to a thriving art haven where I've been able to take in the art deco and historical perspectives this building offers mixed with periodic and innovative art installations I'd suggest it's worth a look!
Uncertain what they'll do with it and I'm most certainly ok with the site being redeveloped into public space as the one thing that should never be removed is the often unrealised potential this area affords as valuable public space that can present art and host events and activities all offering somewhere for some downtime.

What a wonderful hall, lots of potential. Our daughter made her
debut in it. Lots of dances have also been held in it. Needs to be restored

Parking can be tuff. City Hall is located on the main street of Ballarat. Street parking is busy and car parks at rear are often full. Drove around block several times to obtain a car park. Senior of the year function was a hoot and the scones were great. Building is well maintained and historical. Don't be too distressed if you miss it! City Hall is ok!

This huge building looms over the Ballarat cbd. Definitely needing attention and renovation to restore to its former glory days, after years of neglect from the local council. Nevertheless, an asset to Ballarat, showcasing Art Deco style architecture rather than the colonial architecture of Lydiard st. It is open occasionally and visitors can see the proposals for renovation. Unfortunately many options do not restore it to be used as a music or function venue and will probably not restore its original features
