Great for a coffee and a pastry, light lunch, try the buttermilk pancake. Great communal tables, service a bit slow.

We loved the amazing buttermilk teff pancake!- thank you to the owner (Arch) for insisting we try the unusual but delicious teff seeds from her native country! It was a very nice gesture.

We would make this our regular cafe stop if we lived in the area!

Great coffee here, and well worth the trip for the coffee. The food is creative, but we were a bit disappointed at the lack of breakfast standards on the menu. We like just a standard “eggs on toast” for breakfast, but could only get a steamed egg on toast, and that was not on the menu, & almost felt like we were inconveniencing the kitchen. If you like interesting with interesting sides and something a bit different, well worth a try.

Brunch at Sweet Brew. If you're a Melbourne coffee snob, go no further. Ask for your coffee just the way you like it and you'll be rewarded. I asked for a 3/4 latte and was then asked "so you want it weak?" Heard this before and thought to myself, just ask for a piccolo ...they can't stuff it up. Obviously searching the expression on my face, the most delightful manager asked "or do you prefer is stronger?". I said "stronger please". She then said, "may i recommend a double ristretto late" and pointed to the slightly smaller than usual glassware atop the La Marzocco. "Excellent", I said. And excellent it was.

So good I went back for a take-away for the long drive to St Helens. Should've taken two!

By the way, the food is pretty good too.
