We stumbled across this place by accident en route to Adelaide and couldn’t believe our luck. What sumptuous and spacious accommodation! A large, comfortable bed, luxurious bathroom with superb toiletries and huge white fluffy towels and all surrounded by immaculately tended gardens filled with fragrant roses. Dinner in the steakhouse was exceptional. The best steak we had ever eaten, superb service and great wine.

The Barn was chosen as the hub for a two day visit by a large car group with over 300 people every room was occupied by participants. The check in went flawlessly without one single complaint and the standard of the rooms is first class and the meals provided in function room were the best of the tour.

Many thanks for your review MaxineEmily. We did enjoy hosting your group and enjoyed the challenge of serving 300 hot breakfasts!

The room was large, clean and comfortable and the general facilities good. The staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was ok but they should really invest in a hotel toast machine, the toasters were quaint to say the least. Considered a 5 but am a light sleeper and the constant lorry traffic through the night was irritating. If you are a good sleeper no problem or else ask for room furthest from the road.

Great place for a family to stay. We booked the ‘Farm house’ last minute and wished we could of stayed longer. After traveling from Port Campbell on the way to the Barossa we decided to stop off at mount gambier. Great four bedroom house with plenty of room for kids to play. Good sized kitchen with everything you need. Washer/ dryer very handy after traveling for a few days. Rooms a good size, could easily fit a king bed. But they only have queens. Backyard was great for the kids to play in. Very beautiful place to stay. The steakhouse has great service and three out of four steaks were amazing. Don’t order the ‘rich red wine’ sauce. Unless you like Gravox gravy! Check out nice and easy.

Very clean & comfortable room, maybe priced a little higher than others but the setting is superb, as is the steakhouse. When you find something this good you would never hesitate to return, which will happen when next in Mt Gambier
