This was on the edge of the town but walkable. Standard motel accommodation, clean. It was close to the airport which was good. Breakfast was good. Its on the main road but our room was very quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful

Although the Glenelg Motel is on a very busy road, the design of the property means that the rooms are very quiet. The rooms are big, clean and well maintained. The generous block of land means that the forecourt is also big, allowing plenty of space for manouvring the car. It is close to the airport, which is why I chose it - but, if the noise of planes taking off late into the night and early morning bothers you, take my advice and stay somewhere else. Personally, I love the sound of planes, so it didn't bother me.

My main criticism is the bed, which was not the most comfortable I've slept in, and I did wonder if it was past it's "use-by" date. The pillows DEFINITELY need replacing - hard as a plank, and very thin. I'm still getting over the neck problems caused by the lack of support from the pillow.

There are tea and coffee making facilities in each room.

The noise insulation between bathrooms is non-existent, so I lay in bed in the morning listening to the occupant of the room next door showering - and actually had to open my eyes and check that they weren't in my own bathroom!

Breakfast was served in a dining room overlooking the property entrance and while not flash, was quite adequate - cereals, cups of fruit, three or four different types of bread to self-toast. I could've had a cooked breakfast, but on this occasion I didn't have the time. The staff in the breakfast room were friendly and helpful.

A bit nippy for me to try the swimming pool.

Room tip: I would expect all rooms to be quiet - only airport noise

We stayed at the Glenelg for 6 nights in March. Very clean and spacious room and comfy beds. A nice pool to cool off in on the hot days. It's about a 15 minute walk to the beach and the shopping/restaurant area on Jetty Road. The staff are very friendly and helpful with info on Glenelg. A very pleasant 6 days. I would highly recommend this motel for value and location.

Great value for money and accommodation standard was aligned to the price. Location was perfect, not far from the airport but not so close to lose touch with the city atmosphere. The leisurely stroll to Jetty Road was a fantastic stretch for the legs after a long flight, and provided unending dining opportunities.

Not the best, even allowing for the price, but satisfactory in most regards. Furniture and furnishings are dated but clean, the room was fully equipped for our two night stay and we were given a large room with facilities for four. The motel is situated close enough for averagely able people to walk to the seafront or to catch the tram into the city centre. Some noise from the nearby airport but this stops after 9pm until after 6am. Other guests can also cause inconvenience with late arrivals and the walls are quite thin with no soundproofing.
Helpful hint- the tram into Adelaide from Glenelg costs around $10 for a 24 hour ticket, takes about 40 minutes and runs every 15 minutes. Very quick and convenient.
