I was really apprehensive booking this hotel based on some of the reviews I'd read and given I was travelling with my sister who requires a wheelchair. We booked 2x Ocean view rooms with balcony. The view from balconies were uninterrupted, the balconies were not "dirty" as I'd read and it was such a treat to have cockatoos visiting each afternoon; they are so tame. The rooms and bathrooms were clean - had expected to see traces of mold but there was none. There is still only one lift working but the wait was reasonable and not lengthy. We had to heat heat pads each evening and it was no bother at all for the night staff at reception and in-room dining - they attended to our request promptly more than once each evening. Would be good to visit again after all the renovations and upgrade are completed.

Beautiful room and view but the bed was awful. It was a very small queen but felt more like a double and so soft it was like sleeping in mush.
Some areas were good with mask restrictions but in the North Bar and Palisades restaurant staff were not wearing their masks over their noses.
Breakfast buffet was OK but coffee and tea service very, very slow. This changed if you were a friend of the young restaurant manager who was supplying coffee to his mates ahead of the customers who had been waiting more than 15 minutes.
I saw one gentleman go to the coffee counter three times to see where his order was. At other times staff walked around the restaurant with coffees asking who they belonged to. Clearly no ordering and tracking system in place. I couldn’t imagine what the service would be like if the hotel was full.
The eggs including scrambled, fried and poached were all cold, as was the bacon and sausages. No tongs provided for the pastries. Do I need to go on?
A pleasant place but not up to standard currently, seems like management needs a refresher course on the importance of customers.
I wouldn’t pay for breakfast at the hotel again, much better value to head across the road to one of the independent cafes.

Room tip: Avoid the buffet breakfast. Having a room with a window as non vaccinated travellers are able to check in to the hotel.

We had a great couple of nights at the Novotel Wollongong. Our room was on the 8th floor with a stunning view of North Wollongong beach and the coastline. The room itself was extremely comfortable...Spacious, well decorated, excellent bed and pillows and a great shower. Enjoyed delicious dinners on both nights of our stay in the restaurant as well extensive breakfast buffets. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful All up we had a wonderful stay and would recommend the Novotel to anyone staying in Wollongong

This is my second stay at this wonderful hotel. Novotel Wollongong excels at recognition of their All Loyalty members and is ideally located with the beach just metres from the hotel. This time I was once again fortunate to receive a beautiful welcome package (cheese is always a wijnner) and now their new drink voucher offer is a great innovation.

The room upgrade was spectacular and the entire staff were friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Out of all my Novotel experiences around the world, this hotel ticks all the boxes and I highly recommend to anyone seeking a short or longer stay

Had an overnight stay and booked a twin room with ocean view. The room was very nice and comfortable. The beds were soft, pillows great. I wish hotels would regularly turn their mattresses as there are often holes in the bed due to people laying in the same spot. Anyway that didn't detract from our stay. We had a lovely wrap around balcony and the view was great. We did have to wait a lot for the lift as only one was operating. After awhile, we started using the fire escape to exit. This is a nice hotel for a quick getaway and would definitely stay again.
