I have visited the Nan Tien temple many times since it was constructed many years ago. The displays are always great to see from around the world. They are fortunate to have such an opportunity to show off ancient and antique items from Asia.

The Nan Tien Temple is a peaceful place to visit and offers many different courses and cultural activities in Meditation and the philosophy of Buddhism, including weekend retreats which I attended recently they start 8.30 am Saturday until around 1pm Sunday, Its good get away slowdown and experience the mind fullness of meditation, all participants are provided with a lightweight uniform which are very comfortable and suitable for the activities. Most activities such as meditation in the temple meditation hall is conducted in noble silence sitting peace fully listing to the soft voice of our Buddhist instructor while focusing on deep breathing , also walking meditation in the grounds of the temple complex was very pleasant, On Sunday morning Tai Chi was a great way to gently exercise the body and mind, A short talk on the teaching of Buddhism was interesting. Our meals were very satisfying being all healthy vegetarian, accommodation in the Pilgrims Lodge was very comfortable and modern you have a shared room or private, but no Wifi ot Television understandable ! I thought the overall cost was reasonable for the weekend and would recommend experiencing a weekend retreat.

We visited this place as “tourists” just after Chinese New Year celebrations there. This is well kept place and very peaceful. One can get there by city bus from Wollongong. The food was excellent.

I went to visit this temple with friends whilst visiting Woolongong The grounds were amazing, the temple very peaceful and provided alot of history of how the temple came about. The temple has a university across the bridge. Calligraphy classes are also available.People very lovely. It was a great experience.

I have visited the Nan Ten Temple twice. Each time I have found it ver interesting.
A sense of peace envelopes the site and to walk among the gardens, listen to the chimes and the bell (sounds like a gong) and see the friendly monks in their robes is good for the soul.
I found it very interesting to read the plaques around the walls - the sayings are inspirational - well worth the visit. There is a kiosk for souvenirs and a cafe for lunch and refreshments. . All in all a very worthwhile visit.
