We love the fact that the 4 of you all had great fun finding the Hello Koalas sculptures. Our Trail is for people of all ages. And an intriguing way of discovering Port Macquarie for visitors. Please come back soon and see all the Hello Koalas sculptures. There will be over 70 sculptures at next year's Hello Koalas Festival over the June Long Weekend.

A great artistic display to seek and find throughout Port Macquarie and Wauchope! The first one I 'found' which lead me to these exhibits was the one at the Wauchope train station as I arrived, which gives me incentive to come back and find more of the glorious critters!

What a great review to receive .. thank you. We are thrilled that Wauchope Train Station is hosting "Guula", the Hello Koalas sculpture painted by Aboriginal artists from Wauchope TAFE. Guula is sponsored by Forestry NSW which also sponsors two other sculptures - "Forest" depicts life in Burrawan State Forest and is resident at Port Macquarie Museum and "Woody" depicts life in Orara East State Forest and is resident at Sealy Lookout Coffs Harbour. We look forward to your return. And thanks again for sharing your experience.

Had a great time over the long weekend seeking out the Hello Koalas for the treasure hunt. The koalas are amazing, so much detail and creativity has gone into each one, they are a joy to find and photograph, and hard to pick a favourite as they are all so beautiful. The Hello Koalas are at different tourist sites and businesses, tracking them all down has you discovering some great places. Loved the Koala Hospital in particular. Just something fun to do as you explore the Hastings area, we will return for future treasure hunts!.

We knew nothing about the Koala trail when we planned our trip to Port Macquarie and so we were pleasantly surprised when we started finding these cute painted figures. Coming from Brighton in the UK we have seen similar sculpture trails ( snow dog and snail) but they are raffled after a period of time in order to raise money for our local hospice. So it was interesting to learn that Port Macquarie’s trail is a permanent exhibition and it’s growing annually. The painting on the koalas is exquisite. Quite frankly each and every one brings a smile to your face. My favourite was Con who sits outside the lovely historic courthouse ( also worth a visit) the expression on his face is priceless! This activity is for all ages it’s just so joyful and a credit to your lovely town.

Hello Koalas was inspired by the Toads of Hull which, like many other public animal sculpture trails, was designed to raise funds for charity and short term tourism objectives.

We hoped to maintain our sculpture trail as a permanent tourism and community attraction. Fortunately, support from local businesses and community organisations has enabled us to do this. And we receive support from Destination NSW under their regional flagships events program for our annual Hello Koalas Festival in June.

So glad you enjoyed the experience and thank you for your review. Yes we know exactly what you mean when you talk about Con - he is a bit of a rogue but certainly lovable!

We found Koala sculptures dotted all around town and even beyond Port Macquarie and really enjoyed seeing the carious artwork on the Koalas. It's a bit of fun and a clever idea. We did not do the entire trip but enjoyed looking at all the ones that we came across

Thank you for your very welcome response. We are glad you had a good time engaging with our Hello Koalas sculptures and we are proud of the many local talented artists who have created the unique and intriguing designs.

We are adding four more sculptures for the summer including a very handsome Koalasaurus - MAX, a Doctor Koala (sponsored by the Rural Clinical School of University of NSW), Buzzy The Native Bee Koala and Flying Fifie, a beautiful design of moths and butterflies..

We will announce on facebook when the new sculptures are in place. We hope you return and thank you for your review.
