We stayed in the Beachcomber for a night on our way to Sydney. The hotel itself is in a very nice spot - close to the beach, and also close to the CBD in case you want to grab a meal or a snack. Our room was on the ground floor, which was a shame because we didn't have any sort of view of the ocean, but we couldn't fault the facilities. All the furniture was very clean and well maintained. The room was quite large and contained a kitchen and a good-sized bathroom. The TV was just what we were looking for after a long day on the road, and from memory there was a DVD player as well.

Although we didn't have time to use them, there was a big pool, a ping pong table and a games room for guests to enjoy as well.

All in all, I'd strongly recommend the Beachcomber to those looking for a nice, clean and well-maintained hotel room in Port Macquarie.

We had just come frm a hectic stay in Sydney CBD followed by 2 manky days in the Blue mountains.

Beachcomber resort was fantastic in every way, friendly welcome, secure parking, the apartment we stayed in was only just recently refurbished throughout including carpets etc (you could still smell the new carpet smell). It was also immaculate, couln't fault the cleaning in any way.

Location was brilliant, 2 minutes to the town beach which is lovely for a walk, with a kiosk selling reasonable coffee. 5-10 minutes into the town by the road or a really nice leisurely 30-60 minutes round the promenade by the sea.

We only had 2 nights here but I could have happily stayed for a week.

Just back from my third year staying at Beachcomber Resort. New managers but still high standards. Love the views from the balcony. The pool is the best around. Plenty of room for all ages. When the sun goes down enjoy a relaxing spa. BBQ areas clean and really well set up. Rooms are light and airy with plenty of living space. Ours even had a spa bath. Walks are great. 5 minute walk down to Town Beach, 5 minute walk to shops. Plenty to do at the Port. Already booked for my fourth year.

We only had a night here on the way up the coast and unfortunately it was torrential rain the whole time we were there but that wasn't the resort's fault!!

The apartment was so lovely and so well equipped for a family with three children. The rooms were very comfortable and there was a full kitchen as well as a washer and a dryer in the bathroom.

The rest of the resort looked lovely too but sadly we didn't have a chance to make the most of - maybe another time.

The staff were very friendly and the car parking was secure.

It was also very centrally located for the beach and other amenities.

I would think it would be a great place for a family to stay.

We stayed at Beachcomber after reading other reviews on Trip Advisor and were not disappointed.

My husband, almost 5 daughter and myself stayed for one night on our return trip to Sydney. We stayed in a fully self-contained 2 bedroom unit.

Bedroom 1 had a queen bed, and the second two standard single beds. There was plenty of room for a third roll away if required. I found the bed to be quite firm. There were two spare pillows provided and a spare blanket.

Ceiling fans in the bedrooms and air conditioning in the living areas.

The bath in our unit was a hip bath with shower over. With very small children this could cause difficulty in bathing them. The bathroom contained heated towel racks and also housed a modern top-loader washing machine and dryer.

The building is ground + 2 upper levels, and our unit was on the 1st floor with ocean glimpses. There are stairs only to get to the floors. If you have trouble negotiating stairs or have a lot of stuff to transport I recommend the ground floor, although it would mean no views of the water.

The pool is divided into 2 areas - a toddler pool, around 30cm deep and a standard pool around 1.4m deep. We did not swim as it was quite cool when we arrived, but it did look very inviting. The toddler pool had shade cloth.

There are two BBQ areas gracing the pool area.

Car parking is undercover.

I asked the staff for assistance and they were very friendly and were able to help without any problems.

I found too that there were adequate starter supplies provided - washing up liquid, dish washer powder, shampoo/conditioner, tea towels, etc. Having stayed in many fully self contained apartments before I have found this to be lacking, but was more than happy at what I found.

I would be happy to stay there again.
