We had a fantastic stay at Billabong Moon. The Treetops cottage was lovely and secluded, making for a relaxing getaway. We had everything we needed - most importantly, a log fire! The weather was just mild enough to use the outdoor bath, as well.

We decided quite late on a post Christmas trip to the Hunter Valley so the choices were limited as this is a busy time of the year.
One of the few remaining cottages available for short term rent was at Billabong Moon. A property with six cottages around a Billabong and forest.
We booked Forest View, with two bedrooms and one bathroom, which they fail to tell you is part of a larger house divided off with a set of doors and you can hear the occupants in the other part of the property.
The house is basically furnished with average quality furniture but beds were firm and comfortable.
They advertise a newly refurbished kitchen but have only provided the bare minimum of kitchen and dining ware. There were only three side plates but four of everything else but nothing extra. We had to ask the couple who were joining us later to bring a decent sized saucepan and oven dish so we could prepare a decent dinner. The kitchen waste bin was one of those tiny pedal bins designed for a bathroom!
The TV provided sound but no picture.
The location is very peaceful and the swimming pool a welcome relief in the very hot weather.
Having rented many different properties throughout Australia this one was disappointing.
The other cottages on the property were all detached and may have been better fitted out than Forest View.

We loved the place so relaxing and close to nature. Our 3 year old and 10 year old played outside and didn't complain not having their IPads. Loved the birds and noises of nature. So close to all the wineries as well. Kids had great fun looking for fish and watching the ducks. Loved the fire place and had all comforts.

Came to the hunter for a concert! Came with freinds who had little kids so they brought their parents to babysit the 3 yr old while we went to the concert! WOW is all I can say! Parents loved it! 3yr old was totally entertained by fishing, watching kangaroos and running around all over the place! We all were totally relaxed as all age groups are totally catered for! I would reccomend the beautiful place to absolutely anybody of all ages! The owner KERRY was so lovely and makes you feel so relaxed, we booked 3 of the properties and our age group was 3, mid thirties and forties to late 60’s. A good time was had by all as the properties are well separated so you don’t disturb each other. WILL DEFINATELY BE BACK

Room tip: I stayed in the studio which had everything a couple requires, music tv microwave etc I saw the other 2 bedroom properties and they were amazing
