We very really pleased right from the beginning. We advised upon booking we were both vegetarians.
Kim emailed us well in advance to check what we eat so she can prepare the right hamper for us. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous and scenery is breathtaking. If you’re into nature, you’ll love this place. You have kangaroos nearly on your front step!
We did have a bit of an issue with the heater not working properly so we had to rely on the fireplace which wasn’t that good considering it was bellow minus outside.

Overall a great experience.

It was our first time visiting the hunter and I’d spent a couple of days tossing up between places to stay. I chose Broken View Estate because the villas each have their own fireplace, being the middle of winter I couldn’t think of anything better than to cosy up by a fire. Upon arrival, a set of black iron gates open up to a winding path, and across a cute wooden bridge we were able to find our villa easily with the instructions and maps provided. The place is clean, comfortable and best of all really spacious. It’s not flashy but everything we needed was there, movies on Foxtel, kitchen utensils, wood for the fire, a little basket of eggs and other food in the fridge for breakky. The shower is modern, heated floors, great water pressure, the spa was a bonus, the king sized bed was comfortable, it’s private and peaceful so we were able to sleep in all weekend! The bedroom window looks out to a lake and mountains, across the other side you can see the vineyards. The smelly cheese shop, chocolate company and restaurants are only a 20minute drive away. Pete and Kim have a truly gorgeous property and I was sad to go!

When we arrived it looked beautiful. Once we got inside the cottage I was thinking this will be nice. However, the first thing I do is open the doors and windows. The back door was unlocked, the lock had one hand tight screw holding it on, the fly screen was the same. This made me not happy, we couldn't lock our things up.I walk into the bathroom where the toilet roll holder is hanging off the wall and the shelf above the sink is useless, as this is bent down. The dust around the place was not great but under the bed was a bit of a worry, along with all the cockroach poison.
Not to be deterred, it was a hot day lets go for a swim in the advertised pool. Arrived to a green looking not safe at all pool with an old looking closed sign, It looks like it hasn't been used in years.
Overall, not happy. Its a shame, with a bit of work this place could be as good as advertised.

We stayed at Broken View Estate for our Autumn Getaway and thought it was a great place to stay away from the rat race. We found it roomy and tastefully appointed and decorated. It was easy to find and booking in was a stress free experience with the key being in a lock box. The outlook was open and relaxing looking over the dam populated by ducks and you should see the stars at night! Having an early morning coffee on the verandah was topped off when a number of hot air balloons landed in the paddock! We enjoyed the complimentary breakfast and bottle of wine left for our enjoyment. The owner recommended a number of restaurants to try and we were not disappointed. The surrounding roads are quiet making walking and bike riding safe.We would highly recommend these cottages for your next stay in the Hunter Wine region.

Great cottages with ample separation between them in a great setting overlooking a small lake. Cottages are well equipped, comfortable and well built. However, we thought that the kitchenette could do with an update (broken cupboard door & old stove top) and the cottage was dusty in several areas (blinds, window sills etc). Overall we had a great stay and enjoyed our long weekend in the Hunter. Location wise, 10-15mins into town.
