First impressions....WOW. The Longhouse is deceiving in size from the outside.
So well maintained and just spotlessly clean. Two large king size rooms with nice bathrooms, huge showers (no bathtub but not a negative). Loads of hidden storage.
Plenty of parking.
Each unit has its own barbecue and outdoor setting.
Open the large sliding door to enter from the back into the fully equipped kitchen, laundry and lounge area, but when you see the full wall of sliding glass doors that allow you to take in the beautiful view, you know you are going to want to return.
Open these glass doors onto a huge deck with more seating and take in the views. Kangaroos are regular visitors but keep to themselves.
This place is secluded. You feel like you are away from it all, only to find you are so close to the wineries and gardens.
I would prefer to stay in unit 1 or 3 as on either end.
The fireplace is a bonus and plenty of wood is supplied. Also air conditioning.
The Longhouse people have thought of everything. Well done. We really do hope to return.

Stumbled across this gem whilst looking for accommodation close to Roche Estate for a concert.

Beds comfy, well equipped kitchen with some basic pantry item.

Loved it, the design, the view, didn't want to leave.

Thanks The Longhouse, I'll be back.

This is our fourth visit to the Longhouse. We have seen some upgrades over the years all adding to the quality of this venue. A self catered place with all of the usual cooking facilities including well maintained barbecue.
Common room well appointed with TV and video.
Bedrooms more than adequate with up market bathrooms with extra towelling not normally seen in this type of venue.
Nice views a over the vines with friendly kangaroos visiting morning and afternoons.
We will be back!!

Very relaxing, had a two night stay. Most of all its very calm and has lot of space for kids to play and walk around. We did miss the microwave cooking or warming food was not possible. But overall it was a great experience. Especially enjoying the morning sunrise.

Room tip: room 1 was good. Corner room especially if you have kids its a nice room

Pros-The Longhouse is set in a stunning location and is close to everything that you need. The property is spacious and opens out to a beautiful view across the vineyards. Beds were comfy and shower was great with the best toiletries!
I liked the fuss free check in and check out system. Loved the design and aesthetics of the house. The fireplaces were awesome!
Cons- the neighbours share the deck between the 3 units and some people have no idea when it comes to personal space. We awoke to the sound of a freight train, but once we stuck our heads out, realised it was the neighbour's kids using the deck as a scooter track. They would do a few laps then come and push their faces up against the glass doors of our living room.
The owners clearly state that there is no wifi due to a previous guest abusing the service. I don't think that other guests paying good money should be punished for someone else's greed. We had no phone coverage and no wifi which made communicating with our extended family in other parts of the Hunter impossible!
All in all, a lovely stay and we would stay again.

I am so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us at The Longhouse. I am sorry that you stay was somewhat spoilt by the behaviour of someone else's children.

With relation to the wifi we did have optus wifi - unfortunately optus allowed guests to subscribe our account to PAID 12 month porn subscriptions (this happened on multiple occasions) - the response from optus was that anyone with the password can subscribe the account. We are currently in the process of setting up an alternate wifi system (due to low signal in the area this is not a simple process) and apologise for the inconvenience
