I have only just discovered this place and have visited twice in one week! I am a very big fan of cheese boards and wine and Supper Lane provides the best . The variety of cheeses along withe chef prepared dips and condiments are amazing. If unlike me you don't consider cheese a meal, you will find the menu has a variety of other delicious food to choose from . Great food combined with exceptional and friendly service....what more could you ask for !

Where do I start with how good Supper Lane is? There is sufficient paid local parking and well worth paying for to be in this beautiful location. Supper Lane is located in an open and breezy part of historic Newcastle that locals love and visitors fall in love with. Green spaces, sea breezes and historic architecture; Supper Lane is an open fronted, intimate venue that is nicely connected to the environment. Supper Lane is low key and high quality in every way. Table settings are simple and stylish. Wine and beer list is local and carefully selected for quality. The menu is a small selection of big flavour. The star of the show for us, was the baby octopus and white bait. This is a dish that is easy to get wrong and they get it right. The comfit of duck was just as it should be. The steak and roasted garlic mash melted in the mouth. The wait staff is unobtrusive, highly intuitive and nothing is too much trouble. I have never felt so welcome in a restaurant. The food is good, very good, and very well priced for this level. Our delicious multi course lunch was great value. I rarely get excited about a venue but Supper Lane is good good food with good service. We are very keen to go back and explore the range of charcuterie that we simply didn't have room for after lunch.

The setting is well done but not high end however the prices for meals and drinks is at least 50% more than it should be. There are far better restaurants near by which are also much better value. The service was very good but the food very average

Dinner on a Monday night. Really generous, engaging but not overbearing host to tell us about the changing, seasonal menu.

We had the duck pate, which was tasty, well seasoned, with a variety of pickles. The dips were ok, needed a little more flavour to really pop. Oh, and would be good to see some reliable local bread. I gather it changes daily, and is from a range of local bakeries.

Cauliflower wings were excellent. The whitebait could have been a bit more crispy, but the dish worked well together.

Amazing cheese board and selection of sides.

The wine list is small but well chosen. Great to see Dirt Candy on the list. Sold out though!

I will be back.

We have been here a number of times under the previous management, which was fabulous. This first visit under new management was disappointing. The bread served with the cheese board was described as 'fresh baguette' but was stale white bread purchased from a supermarket. Really quite awful. Not the wonderful Sourdough from previous ownership. The pate was gritty, and tasted like something was not quite right. Cheese plate presented in an ametuerish way, and the selection is significantly limited. Wines by the glass were good. Overall disappointing considering the price, and based on other reviews of the new ownership I am not sure we will return.
