Check in was less than ideal - it was unclear where to enter the property from the street with what looked like the entrance to the accommodation being locked. We ended up having to ask the bouncer at the pub entrance, who went to get a member of staff to check us in via the bar where staff were making drinks and coffees. Maybe it was bad timing (there was a very busy Melbourne Cup function happening at the time we checked in) but the whole process felt very disorganised and unwelcoming. Exiting the accommodation to the street also involved walking through a smokers area, which was not pleasant.
On the positive side, the bed was extremely comfortable. Shower was excellent with great water pressure and huge shower head! The rooms have been well soundproofed with no issues with noise from the pub below once the DJ had finished.
Overall though, the experience did not live up to the expectation, given that this is the #1 ranked hotel in Newcastle.

Booked in for a couple of nights on business. Very comfortable. Nice 'n quiet (especially for a pub). In my paricular room there was a double bed and a very large flat-screen TV. Fridge and tea-making facilities.

This is my local watering hole. It looks fabulous with a fairly recent makeover. The staff are friendly, the food delicious and the $3 bubbles on Friday a deal you can't beat. I love the Junction "Pub" and will continue to frequent it on an almost weekly basis.
I have never stayed in the hotel rooms.

Loved our stay, rooms are very nicely decorated. Conveniently located in town close to all ammenitires. We didn't get to try the food as we checked in late. The staff are very pleasenet. Very cool hotel, deserves to be number 1

Having lived in the area previously I was concerned about noise staying here, but had no need to be. Quirky decor (a little bit of a QT vibe), clean & well equipped rooms - perfect spot for one or two nights in Newcastle. Stayed on a Saturday night and the room was quiet the entire time - except for pub closing time when we heard some loud people in the street, but this didn't last for long. Felt this property offered good value for the quality of the room.
