Description: Rib eye cooked for 18 hours in a smokey marinade, then gently grilled to order, might just be the best cut of meat you will eat in your life. At Chophouse the signature Blackened Slow Cooked Rib Eye is incredibly popular because it is incredibly good. The slow cooking process makes the steak as soft as butter and busting with flavour. It is just one feature on an outstanding menu of hearty meal options including six varieties of steaks, ribs, burgers and plenty of tasty options for the whole family. Chophouse is an authentic steak house in New Lambton. Before you begin your dining experience you can view cuts of meat hanging in a chilled display area adjacent to the kitchen. From here you can also watch the chefs at work, stoking the wood fire and cooking steaks to perfection. The classy restaurant brings a touch of rural to the city, with timber features and cowhide chairs to welcome guests. There are a large variety of beers and wines to accompany whatever amazing meal you choose.

I've been twice now, once to celebrate a birthday and most recently for dinner. We booked a table for 2 at 5:30pm and we requested a booth seat which the staff happily accommodated. We arrived and were seated and very quickly a waitress came over to ask if we would like a drink. She returned promptly with our drinks and took our order. We ordered garlic bread, the rib eye on the bone (cooked medium) and the rattle steak (also cooked medium). Both come with sides of potatoes, parmesan rocket salad and sauce. The garlic bread came out within 10 minutes of ordering it and the main meals about 20 minutes later. The meat was delicious, cooked to perfection and very tender. The meal sizes are huge and are well presented (see the photos). When the meals arrived the waitress advised that if we were unhappy with how the meats were cooked or if there was a problem with the meal to let her know and we would be given a replacement meal. After the main meal we decided to test out the desert menu and ordered the waffle with maple syrup, cream and strawberries and the choc fudge sundae with honeycomb. We requested a change from ice cream to cream on the waffles desert and this was happily accommodated. We also ordered pots of tea with skim milk and again this was no trouble. Both deserts were beautifully presented and were a generous size and tasted amazing (see photos). Throughout the meal we were approached by various staff members to make sure the meal was fine and there was nothing else we needed. Once I finished my glass of wine I noticed it was less than 5 minutes before a staff member asked if I would like another drink and empty plates were taken away quickly.
The décor of the restaurant is modern, comfy, inviting and well thought out. There are plenty of attentive staff and the menu and wine list is extensive and reasonably priced. As members of Wests Leagues Club you get a discount if you present your members card.
Overall I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting a great meal, especially if you are celebrating a special occasion. We wont hesitate to go back again!

Ate at The Chophouse for the second time recently. First time we had a fabulous meal and were very impressed.

This time not so much. There were 5 of us and we had booked at least a week beforehand. They seated us on a table in the middle of the room, which was a bit squashy, and put 2 people in the booth tables that would easily take 6 in comfort. Didn't make sense to me. The 2 people came after, and left before us, and we would have been more comfortable out of the traffic.

Didn't take long to get our entrees and drinks, which were quite good, but then there was a long wait to get our mains. It was also hard to attract a waiter for a drink. The staff did apologise for the wait, and we weren't in a hurry, but when the steaks turned up 3 out of the 5 were lukewarm at best.

My son had the Ribs and Rump combo, and spouse the rump steak, and these were cooked perfectly and very tender. The rest of us had the 16 hour slow cooked rib eye, rump and lobster tail combo and a cutlet dish, all of which were almost cold.

They were quite tender, and if they had been hot, would have been delicious. No one came near us to ask about the meal. We gave up on trying to order any dessert,as the staff obviously wanted to clean up and go home, so we were unable to attract them. It wasn't late, only about 9:30pm, so after it became clear the dessert menu wasn't coming,we paid up and moved on to the Chocolate Bar for dessert and coffee.

I'm glad I got my 10% discount as a member,as even with that, it was quite expensive. The lobster tail was the smallest lobster tail I've ever seen and quite tasteless. My son said his ribs just melted in the mouth so it was either really good or really ordinary food wise.

Next time we will stick to the new Italian restaurant, the Mexican Cantina or the consistently good Emerald Garden Chinese Restaurant, which we've enjoyed many times before.

Maybe they need some new heatlamps in the kitchen or maybe they forgot to cook all our meals at the same time? Who knows, but I do know I will go to Hogs Breath next time we want to pay over $30 for a steak, and hopefully get it served hot!

A great addition to the stable of restaurants at West Leagues Club, New Lambton.
Menu has a great variety of dishes. Much better than the last fiasco - Irish restaurant. Thank goodness it didn't last long.
Initially under the impression is was just steaks and nothing else so taken aback (positively) with the range.
The ribs were to die for. Love my ribs and like to try whenever they are offered at a restaurant. Very tasty and a good size portion without being overwhelming.
The pear and rocket salad (not something I usually go for but recommended by a friend) was extremely yummy. Def order again.
Am looking forward to another visit to try their tapas style small meals. Again, looks like a good variety. From memory about 8 -9 offerings.
Staff need more training esp in the drinks area. The waitress got the wine order wrong. Just a minor quibble. Didn't spoil the night.
Have recommended the restaurant to a few friends already. Will def being visiting again.
