We’ve booked 5 nights at Rydges, based on the images of the hotel and good reputation of other Rydges hotels.
A 3 star rating would be more accurate for this hotel.
The sheets are polyester. The in-room kettle and much of the decor is plastic.
The buffet breakfast features limited options including canned fruit, Kraft spreads and battery farmed, rubbery bacon. Eggs offered cooked to order are well done. The omelette is made hurriedly in a press with little care eg. raw onion, vegetables and egg possible.
UHT fruit juices and processed prepackaged food are available. For the extraordinary price a breakfast buffet would usually include fresh fruit, salmon and a wide variety of freshly made dishes.
The shower is compact, gentle and inside a small bath with a light shower curtain. A frosted glass window links the toilet and bedroom.
For the 4 star price of the hotel, I would expect a bare minimum of cotton bedding, and expected more up to date interiors, and quality furnishings.
These are basics in simpler hotels.
