My partner and I went here for lunch: we have been very spoilt by having several very good Japanese restaurants in our area and it is one of our favourite cuisines. We were very disappointed first by the unfriendly staff and then by the limited and quite confusing menu. We love Japanese California and Sushi rolls which are not offered at this restaurant and we also like sharing dishes so we ordered an entree and a rice Bento only to be informed that whilst they would supply us both with cutlery there would not be 2 plates provided so we could share. No apology or anything: that was just outrageous! We also wanted a drink and had to ask for the drinks menu. The food was served reasonably quickly and was tasty enough but certainly not served with the usual care you expect of Japanese. If you are travelling and planning somewhere for lunch try to hold out for Port Macquarie where the Japanese restaurants are vastly superior to this. The fact that this place is rated so highly on TA suggests that the overall standard of food and service in Grafton must be very average because this place only just scrapes in with a 3 and was probably halfway closer to a 2.
