Went for a canoe trip and planned for an hour, spent 5 hours on the water lost. The map and directions were terrible and signs on the river was asolute shocking. We called the owners for help or direction and they wer no help at all. Ended up being saved by a family that where in a boat on the river that lived locally and toed us back to this business.

Very disappointing reponse. My canoe got caught on a hidden branch and flipped leaving me stranded in the middle of the river holding onto a branch in an extremely strong current. My partner on a seperate boat contacted the company for help and nobody knew what to do or who to contact. Finially, after i got my self out of the water with the help of my partner and a very kind stranger ( i can swim but due to the trapped canoe the current aganist it was extreamly strong and made it difficult to swim) the owner and a worker of the company came. They did not ask if i was ok, if i needed medical attention ABSOULTY did not care about me welfare, all they cared about was their canoe stuck in the water. Not incident report or anything. Overall just complete lack of customer care. Will never return or recommend (especially for families with children). When confronted about my concerns the owner or staff did not care.

My wife and I are back for our second canoe trip down the Murray River. At the start of 2016, just after xmas we stayed at the Hovel Tree Motel in Albury, NSW, which is just opposite Noriel Park where the Canoe Man picks you up from. We started our trip about 30 minutes up stream from mangabareena and finished the trip where we started from around 4 hrs later. We stopped along the way and had a picnic. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. That's why we are back again. Very meditative. Very relaxing.

A canoe is not cheap to buy. And not a good investment if you're only likely to use it a couple of times a year. But luckily for us Albury district residents (and the smart travellers who chose us as a holiday destination) - you can experience all the fun of paddling/floating a canoe down the Murray thanks to Canoe The Murray. For $30, the guys meet you at the boat ramp at Noreuil Park, and drive you out to The Waterworks or Mungabareena. They set the canoe or kayak in the water for you; help you into a lifejacket; and into the canoe. They give you the basic instructions you need, and you're off...for 3 hours or so of the most beautiful relaxing float down the river back to Noreuil Park. They'll be there to meet you and help you up to the ramp and out of your canoe. They even mind your car keys for you if you dont want to take them with you. We stopped for a half hour picnic along the way. Others stopped for a swim. I took my phone in a ziplock bag - no problems. I recommend taking sunscreen, a hat, a towel (to sit on or cover your legs from the sun), and a water bottle. You can paddle on your own, or in a 2 or 3 person canoe. Great fun!
