The bus driver stopped here as he said that it was a wonderful place to see. Short walk to the chasm. Great volumes of water and greenery to see.

a very easy and short walk through the forest. Different experience and I love the trees inside the forest.

The chasm walk is mind blowing, with rushing waters striking fascinating rocks with potholes. The 20 minute walk is easy and accessible and the views among my favorite in New Zealand.

If you are in a hurry to get to Milford Sound, this is probably the place to stop en route, lovely little walk and an easy walk to see the river disappear into the rocks. If you are more adventurous, take the path downriver and have a swim below the waterfall. The last section has a rope to help you get down and up. The pathway is covered in roots, so not an easy walk.
Loved the coffee vendor in the parking lot.
Note: the tourist buses also stop here

The day we visited there had been torrential rain (4.5 cm in 2 hours). The Chasm was really going for it. So much water it was flowing over the Chasm too. Spectacular. Easy walk from the carpark. The Cat Coffee Lady is there most days in the carpark do you an get a great coffee too.
