The highlight of our New Zealand trip at an excellent place, my wife and I arrived for two days, and we had a great experience. The hosts Nathan and Debbie are amazing. Nathan built by himself a stunning house with windows all around that gives you a nice view of the lake, with plenty of in and outside seating areas. The first evening they prepared a cheese and salmon platter paired with great wine. We woke up to a beautiful breakfast made with fresh eggs and vegetables from their own yard, sat and chat with them and they recommended us different activities in the area. after a hike they picked us up with their boat, and did everything they could to make our stay an amazing experience. Nathan and Debbie will make sure you enjoy your stay at Te Anau and we highly recommend this place.

Room tip: There is only one room and you'll enjoy it !!!

Exquisite accommodation with super hosts, Nathan and Debbie.
The food was just wonderful and most of it caught or hunted or grown by Nathan
Even the chickens that provided the breakfast eggs became personal friends.
Nothing was too much trouble for the multi-talented hosts and after our too short, three day stay, we felt that we had made new friends
We recommend Salt and Earth to anyone who wants, not just great accommodation, but a wonderful experience. Colin and Andy

This was above and beyond my expectations. The house that Nathan built is absolutely stunning with a great view of the lake. We woke up to a beautiful breakfast spread with vegetables and eggs straight from the back garden. Nathan gave us an unforgettable experience by taking us out on the water to do some free diving for seafood that we prepared and enjoyed together later in the evening paired with some great wine. Me and my partner finished the day with a bath in the barrel in the garden whilst watching the stars.

Nathan also recommended some great walks and activities for us. He really knows the area. Him and Debbie will truly make sure that you enjoy Fiordland and the B&B.

Very recommended!!

My Girlfriend and I came on a late check in to Salt+Earth (Fiordland B&B). We asked for a Cheese platter and Wine for Dinner and it was perfect!. The Cheese was delicious and The Wine was great. Nathan and Debbie's wine selections were really really Good.

The Next day, we went mountain biking around Te Anau and after that, we continue our day hunting for Sea urchin, Paua (Must try!) and fishing too!. Nathan and Debbie took us to the sea with Nathan's speedboat, it went fast and jumping around Waves, we had to hold tight to the boat. it was so much Fun!

They are really good chefs, breakfast and dinner executed beautifully. Fresh eggs from their backyard were delicious, I'm still amazed till this day!

What a wonderful Experience! We hope we can come back and stay at Salt+earth again next time!

This is the most amazing B&B on my Trip to New Zealand.

We stayed with Nathan at Salt & Earth for two nights in early January. We're not big on fishing, but we love fish, and hunting is not our thing, but wine, cheese, great food and very nice people certainly are.

The crayfish caught that day was sublime, the local cheeses, the Pinot Noir from Bannockburn was exceptional, but it was the room that really blew us away. It was modern, spacious and superbly designed. Nathan designed and built Salt & Earth, and everything in the place is so brilliantly thought out.

We haven't got the biggest budgets, and whilst we'd love to have gone for the scenic flight and Fiordland adventures, we settled for a wonderful scenic boat cruise of Milford Sound and utter relaxation at Salt & Earth.

Nathan is down to earth, he's affable, and he's very good at what he does. He allows guests to enjoy themselves the way they want, and is there when you need him. We consider ourselves very lucky to have experienced Salt & Earth, and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Te Anau or Milford.
