I absolutely loved the concept of this place. Everything is solar-paneled, uses recycled goods, and makes you feel good about reducing your carbon foot print. I am an avid second hand store junkie, a minimalist, and consider myself an urban hippie. This place is an eco-friendly paradise. The staff was incredible, and described to us the concept of these apartments/rooms perfectly. The decor in our room was hipster and fun, with a rustic charm that you don't see many places. Everything had the feel of the American store Anthropologie with southwestern patterns, wool accents, and homemade art. We had a kitchen fully stocked with delicious snacks and fresh milk in a glass bottle. There's a garden on site where they grow all the veggies for the restaurant and the breakfast buffet was one of the best I have ever had. It was an organic, all natural, homemade feast including cured meats, cheese, yogurt, eggs, peanut butter, and an assortment of jams. The cost was a little high, but worth every penny. It seems that most food in NZ is expensive, but usually fresh and healthier than the typical American restaurant. The views outside our window were absolutely gorgeous because the property overlooks a lake and mountains can be seen in every direction. It was a peaceful, natural, and inspiring hotel experience.

Room tip: great views, scenic location, quiet

We only stayed one night unfortunately. This place is so inspiring of what to do with all those tired old 60s,70s and 80s motels. Fantastic design ideas and concepts. Great restaurant. Amazing views from our room. Comfortable, spacious and friendly efficient service. Having read some of the negative reviews of this place on trip advisor , I can only conclude they were written by the competition who are so far behind in their thinking and execution . Either that or they never read the ethos of this unique gem before booking. I reckon it's genius not having TV in the rooms... I mean tv in NZ , like most places these days is Soo bad it's a waste of space.

We loved our stay here! The room was so comfortable and stylish - nothing unnecessary, warm with a wonderful view! Most of the room was created by upcycling materials which made it very homely. The room was also very spacious and had a lovely terrace.
The service was good and reception helpful. The restaurant was amazing too - the fresh baked items, coffee and sangria was beautiful!
The location is not in Queenstown but a ten min drive away between Queenstown and Frankton. We had no issues getting to and from Queenstown at all.

Not your traditional hotel this... Lots of wood, terrific communal spaces... casual outdoor eating zones with big tables and benches and a conversation pit(???) around a open fire. Terrific dining zone and bar with views out over the lake. The hotel is roughly 4kms/6mins from both the airport and downtown. The bedrooms have an eastern mediterranean feel, the beds are comfy and the bathrooms well equipped. Fabulous buffet breakfast at $25. The staff... especially Chris on Reception... are very friendly and helpful... Thoroughly recommended.

We were only here for a night but loved it. Thoughtful attention to upcycling materials for a comfortable room and loved all the additional activities - a guitar player playing music in the fire pit, complementary sangria, yoga option. Very creative, community minded and yet with attention to detail for travelers comfort and needs.
