My husband & I are currently staying at the hotel and ate here last night. We had an entree, main and desserts. The service was fantastic, the views breathtaking and the food was extremely flavoursome! I suggest the butternut risotto as it was superb, the chicken breast, gnocchi & creme brulee! Looking forward to going back :)

The food here is great. We tried a number of the main dishes and all were memorable. No half baked efforts or unrealised pretentions here and the mains are complete meals. The meat or fish was complemented by a range of vegetables and sauces which were intergral to the dish not sides. I found this very refreshing - and tasty. It set our expectations a bit too high when eating at other restaurants in Queenstown.

The staff accomodated the children particularly well. We asked to split a main and two plates were brought out each presented as if they had ordered 2 meals. They also have a range of kids meals but the normal menu is hard to go past. For dessert the chocolate fondant was the favourite.

The view of the lake is beautiful (as others have mentioned) unfortunately we only got a short time to enjoy it before it got too dark.

Everyone was very friendly and all went smoothly with the meals etc. However, there was only one waitress and this meant a few times it was hard to get her attention.

It is a fantastic place for a special occassion - the food is exceptional.

What a bonus this place is - fantastic view over the lake from the dining room, excellent menu, excellent food, excellent service. We ate there on our final night staying at the St Moritz (where the restaurant is located) and it has one of those menus where you really want to go back another night because there are other things you want to try.

The in-house restaurant at a hotel is always a risk - this one is a treat.

The food here was just divine. The rabbit pie was mouth watering and the venison cooked to perfection. We had a Jerusalem artichoke soup which I loved. Such a great restaurant. It felt very warm and cosy on a cold night. The waiter was very inexperienced but very genuine. We couldn't fault the care he gave. One of the other patrons decided it was OK for their 4 kids to come play in the corner near us. Sometimes you wonder about how thoughtless some people are (and no I'm not intolerant and love kids but not the right thing to do in this type of restaurant). Some of the tables would have had great views in the day. We thought about staying another night just to eat there again. We were also surprised at the value and prices in comparison to others in the town.
