We had the honor of staying 3 nights at Balmoral Lodge and would have to say I would totally recommend to anyone. The rooms were so clean and well attended and the hospitality was great. If you want a place to chill or just see all the attractions of Queenstown we would suggest you book into Balmoral Lodge.

Very nice, large home with 3 levels of guest bedrooms. The view of the lake is wonderful and there is a table in the front garden where we enjoyed a glass of wine while looking over the pretty flowers to the view beyond. Our "honeymoon suite" was on the ground floor so it was a bit noisy and some of the furnishings were a little tired, but you can't expect everything to be brand new all the time. I'm sure they have lots of visitors. We were with friends whose room was the other "honeymoon suite" on the top floor and their view was spectacular. Hosts were very nice and we enjoyed chatting with them over breakfast.

We thank you for your comments, it is unfortunate that the local council decided to tarseal the road outside the lodge that week, but we have no control over that,

Our room had the most perfect views, a great big comfortable bed, nice flat screen and spa bath. The hosts were really nice and friendly and made delicious hot cooked breakfasts in the morning. The location was great, not too far from town, just under a ten minute walk. We had no complaints. We hope to return sometime in the near future :) Cheers to Cis and Les Walker our wonderful hosts.

We rented two rooms on the first floor which included a living/kitchen area. It was perfect for a family. We had access to a lovely outdoor table as well as more lounge space upstairs. The views are spectacular and everything was clean and comfortable. Our bedroom had a terrific whirlpool tub that was great for sore muscles following a day of adventure.

The host were kind, helpful, and prepared a delicious breakfast. The walk into town takes just a few minutes. However, the walk from town is up a steep hill which is a little difficult to navigate after a night out but it is also a quick and inexpensive cab ride. As previously mentioned, the views are worth the extra altitude.

My husband and I spent 7 nights at Balmoral Lodge from 3rd-10th February, 2012. Our Lakeview Queen room had fabulous views right over Queenstown, Lake Wakitipu and the mountains. The hosts were very friendly and helpful and we were offered cooked breakfasts every morning which were beautiful. The walk downtown only takes less than 10 minutes. Although we are both Seniors we walked back up the hill quite a few times which is a little steep in parts but we managed quite well and for the views it was well worth it. Our room was lovely and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was great and there was always plenty of hot water. Our room even had a walk in closet which was very handy for bags etc. The only criticism we had was that the TV was a really tiny old style one which was only about 12"-14" so that was a bit disappointing. A larger modern flat screen TV about 51cm would have easily fitted on the shelf where the little TV was. There was however a Guest Lounge which had a Large TV. The Lodge also had a large room with a Pool table. We hired a rental car for the last 3 days of our stay and there was plenty off street parking at the Lodge which was a big plus. Overall a very lovely stay in a very scenic location.

Room Tip: Our room was very sunny for most of the day so would be a big bonus in Winter.
