This was our favourite place to stay on our three-week trip through New Zealand. It was wonderful in every way. First the Glebe Apartments appear to be individually owned and then rented out uniformly as holiday apartments. The rental service is great, very well done so that you feel as though it's like a hotel stay in terms of cleanliness and format (minus the daily maid service). Reception greeting was nice and check in was a smooth, simple process. We rented the Walter Peak Penthouse. The layout of the complex is such that there are several penthouse units over a few areas on the top floors. The Walter Peak Penthouse is at the front of the complex. Its position on the top floor means it's quiet free from overhead noise, but because it's on the front of the complex on the main, busy road running through Queenstown, you do get a bit of road noise. The rooms are all double glazed, but for me to sleep comfortably a white noise app was helpful. The traffic noise was the only thing to criticise, because in every other way this place was amazing. It's got three nice size bedrooms, three bathrooms, a massive living room, dining area, large kitchen and three different outdoor terraces, including one massive one with a large dining area, large sitting area and a BBQ. The first thing that strikes you when entering the unit is the size. It is massive! It's also over two levels, the master bedroom and bathroom and master terrace is upstairs, and everything else is downstairs. The master bedroom is huge and has its own sitting area, walk-in closet, massive two-sink bathroom, separate W/C, two person shower, jetted tub, etc. The curtains in the master are excellent for blocking out light. The views from the whole unit are amazing, over the mountains, watching the gondola and paragliders all day, and the lake to the other side. Just gorgeous, and the best views are from the master terrace, though excellent views from the lower BBQ terrace too. The main floor has two large secondary bedrooms and two further bathrooms. It also has a laundry closet with a washer and a dryer. The kitchen is massive, has everything you could possibly need including two dishwashers! The living area is also huge and so comfortable. When we weren't hanging out in the outdoor living room on the terrace, we loved the space in the living room. The whole place is so well appointed, you just didn't want to leave. We all agree that our favourite thing about Queenstown was staying here. We used the BBQ every night, which was the best! The views from the terrace as we ate outdoors are amazing. So nice to have your own space with such a nice view to dine. So many good restaurants in Queenstown, but our favourite place to eat was at the apartment. The location in Queenstown is perfect, just a block from the heart of Queenstown, which was fantastic because you could just leave the car at the apartment for your whole stay. Nowhere you need to drive. We walked to the gondola in 10 minutes, to the beach in 10 minutes, everything is just right there. The complex is just up a very, very steep street. It's right at the bottom of this street, but it immediately gets steep as you enter this street. It's good it's not very far up, because the incline just getting to the entrance is severe. Also driving up the street is a little nuts at first, but parking the car in the car park was simple and we just left the car there until we checked out. WiFi was great, TV was great, even had a movie and game selection in the lobby. Great place to call home in Queenstown. Highly recommend.
