Their strength is definitely great customer service. Fantastic help with wanting a ride back into town.

Other concerns were for the price we paid for a night the room could do with a bit of renovation. Upgrade TVs and faster internet as it was very slow.

The Swiss-Belresort is just 10minutes from queenstown which is great. Large parking. We had a big room with two large beds and lots of space for our luggage. Refrigarator, waterboiler, ... were all present. Only negative remark about our room was that the sink in the bathroom was broken and due to that reason also not very clean.

The hotel is 5 km from Queenstown, but you can take a Shuttlebus every half an hour. The hotel is not modern Standard, but the stuff is competent, nice and helpful. They have a sauna, but no shower in the sauna. So you have to go into the whirlpool with all the sweat on your body. Not very hygienic.

2 winters ago we stayed for about 4 days and I left a review, the GM replied that renovations were about to begin... from what I can see there are no changes! The receptionist when we arrived was very friendly and informative. We had booked a room for 2 adults and one child but the room we were given only had 2 large single beds that 2 could not fit on, we changed rooms but only other room available was for 3 single beds.. not ideal. Rooms still very outdated but much cleaner with no mould this time. Last time we stayed we had a grabone deal but this time paid full price which for what we got was not great value compared to other accommodation around QT but due to the weekend there was little other accommodation in town. When we arrived for breakfast the man there was very rude refusing us service until he checked as he had written that breakfast was only for 2 despite me saying we paid for the 3rd, we were some of the last eating felt like he was watching us while he cleared up which was awkward. We won't likely return and warn others not to expect too much.

Thank you for your comments and I will certainly take up teh breakfast issue with our team here

Since your stay a couple of years ago there has been a change of ownership and direction of the hotel. There is still a renovation which teh planning has been completed and we would like to start the work in teh very near future. The plan is to have it completed before the end of next year

I look forward to welcoming you back again in the future

This hotel is way past its prime, should have been renovated a long time ago. Carpets are worn through in public areas, scuff marks on walls, etc. Amusingly, there is a brochure in the room extolling the virtues of the 'Swiss-Belhotel' experience, replete with photos of smug corporate types proud of their hotel culture. They obviously haven't visited this property in a decade. Why would anyone patronize another hotel of this corporation? For the price it was okay, nice location out of town, friendly staff. Not horrible, but disappointing.
