“Very friendly and comfortable hotel next to fantastic pub”
Reviewed 27 February 2015

Comfortable small bed and breakfast next to pub. Quite basic rooms but comfortable. Breakfast is simple and self-service. More like a pub with rooms but that said it is very quiet and the pub is great with a very good restaurant.

Room Tip: Go for garden room

Booked this last minute to see the cricket in Christchurch. Kind of like a help yourself bed and breakfast. Alot better than a motel. Its a bit more homely and like going into your house after being out at night. Key was in a locked box. Breakfast was very good. Bed was very comfortable. Room could of had a chair to relax on. Ensuite was very small and not much room to move in but was fine. Would recommend to anyone.

Room was lovely and clean with doors opening out onto the garden and afternoon sun.
Was also very nice sitting out there in the mornings with a cup of tea planning how the days would unravel
Linen and towels a lovely crisp white, well appointed bathroom with toiletries, shower spacious.
Georgia was so very obliging when we asked to change our booking, no problem at all.
Continental breakfast available twenty four hours, the range was terrific from conserves, a lovely array of fresh fruit, many many teas to choose from, yoghurts galore, fresh bread, the list just goes on.
To have the pub next door was a bonus, fresh beers on tap, many to choose from.
Internet connection free, available twenty four hours, excellent coverage, television channels average, would have thought full sky would have been available.
Parking excellent, right outside.
Laundry facilties spacious.
Staff very friendly and obliging.
Overall a very good place to stay and very close to the city centre.

Room Tip: If you like the afternoon sun go for the garden room

This has to be one of the best places to stay in Christchurch. For a city that's on its knees trying to recover, Pomeroys on Kilmore refuses to be beaten down! We had an excellent nights sleep in the garden room. Properly prepared for our 24hr journey ahead of us, and I have to commend them on having a great little setup for breakfast. It's a sort of 'help yourself' affair around a big dining table, much as you would have at home. But all set up for you in advance, and in very stylish surroundings. We were never bothered, and really enjoyed our last night in NZ.

We took advantage of the free drink offered in the pub and ate there as well. THE BEST meal of our entire trip. The venison was amazing. And the beer, super tasty. Why go anywhere else?!

Room Tip: The garden room comes highly recommended. Very peaceful, although the wifi is weak there.

We stayed here over Labour weekend and were really impressed. We arrived late and the pub was humming but they happily showed us to our room without hassle. We asked about dinner and staff said sure they'd book us in, whenever we were ready we could come over. It was a busy Thursday night so we appreciated that. Then they leave you alone (unless you need them). The room was clean, the place as quiet even though it was next to a bar, we walked into town several times....self serve breakfast was great. Would stay here again for sure.
