The Port Hills are the remains of an ancient volcano, with fantastic lofty ridge walks and mountain bike tracks, to keep you busy for days. The views across the Pacific ocean to Kaikoura in one direction and Banks Peninsula towards Akaroa in the other, will take your breath away. A new cafe on the Summit Rd, near the top of Mt Pleasant Rd is a great place to sit looking out to sea. We also loved the views and surprisingly good value gift shop at the top of the Gondola. A great area to hang out and keep returning too!

Bit of a windy road but nice views once you are up there, did not go for a walk up to the peak. Not a place to have a picnic though.

Breathtaking views!

Perfect place for photo shoots without getting photobombed!

Always wonder why is there so few people at such a lovely place!

Best place in ChCh. It is our favourite place. You have an amazing view and fresh air. You also have many hiking and biking trails
