If you haven't been to Christchurch before, pop in here as soon as you arrive. It gives you a real insight into the ramifications of the recents quakes. The 1 hr video of personal accounts gives you a locals view of the disaster too, take the time to watch!
Loved our visit here, and well worth the entry price. Such a touching museum for the loss suffered as a result of the tragic earthquake, but also shows you the strength in community and the amazing things that have happened since.
Highly recommend.
Hubby and I learnt alot about the science of earthquakes and the impact on the city.
A little sad but 100% recommend. Friendly staff.
This has to be one of the best small museums I have ever visited. It is exquisite. It really tells the story of the earthquakes that hit in 2010 & 2011. It is well worth the entrance fee, especially since I am pretty sure some of the proceeds still go to the quake relief. Educational and memorable. Seriously not to be missed.
To visit quake city and then walk around the city to actually see the damage is surreal - we spent a good few hours in here, very interesting and some parts emotional. A must see if you are interested in the EQ's
This place is worth a visit if you really want to learn all you can about the Canterbury earthquakes history. The shop has many items, souvenirs, and books. But for a fee, you can do an audio-video tour showing the most detail and information that you will ever find about the disaster and destruction. Again, this is for anyone who is seriously interested.
