Description: Dux Dine is a reflection of the past but a move into the future. A contemporary feeling, with fresh local seafood and vegetarian delights, Dux Dine has plenty to offer. Our delicious New Zealand wines and Dux craft beers are certainly a crowd pleaser. Dux Dine is situated in a historic turn-of-the-century Villa that was originally the Station Masters House for the Riccarton Railway. The villa has been extensively but sympathetically reworked to provide a variety of spaces to be enjoyed whether it be an intimate candlelit dinner for two, a large group celebration at one of the huge Kauri tables, grabbing a morning coffee at the breakfast bar, enjoyi Dux Dine has many reminiscences of the iconic Dux de Lux yet new and fresh while remaining comfortably familiar. Many of the old favourites can be seen on the menu as well as exciting fresh new foods and ideas. Dux Dine offers many setting options, from relaxing in a lounge, formal table setting to sitting in our sun drenched court yard. Whether it be a small group, special lunch or dinner, corporate event, product launch or company celebration we can cater for your needs. As a company we are passionate about supporting the local businesses around us. The seafood served in the restaurant is frequently sourced from Akaroa, Stuart Island and the West and East Coast including Southern Glory Oysters. With the ever changing environment, Dux Dine is pleased to say that we are environmentally friendly. Coffee cups, take away containers, and menus are all recycled.

Found this restaurant after a quick search for a seafood restaurant in the local area. This was just a delight. With friendly wait staff who explained the meals and only too happy to share a joke as we sat and let the food just take our taste buds to foodie heaven!
We started with a seafood chowder - that was so fresh and just smooth with plenty of flavor. The mussels were next level and I couldn’t have eaten a lot more. The broth they were in was well cooked and delectable. For Mains we had fresh trumpeter with salse verde and it was cooked just cooked to the edge where it was cooked perfectly and flaked. The salse was soo tasty. The prawn salad was refreshing but maybe just a touch too much dressing. But the prawns were definitely the hero.
Big thumbs up for the whole atmosphere and food and the price for the entire meal with wine was surprising (definitely below what we expected). I would definitely go back for more seafood meals and seconds of the mussels!

Little diamond of a restaurant. Went for a special breakfast before flying out of Christchurch after reading super reviews.
Beautiful restaurant, lovely garden area out of the back which transported you to feeling you were in the countryside.
The food was absolutely delicious, we had the avocado and eggs and the salmon which was stunning. Very good coffees and chai lattes.
Will recommend to friends.
Thank you for a wonderful start to our day.

Excellent food - non meat; vegetarian, vegan and fish.
Good service professional and friendly.
Lovely venue - early 1900s villa renovated and tastefully decorated.
Went here for special last meal in NZ before flying home. Quite pricey but well worth it for special occasion. Baked fish was delicious - served with freshest salad and aioli.

Dux Dine was an absolute treat, the ambience was so inviting from the moment you walk in. The staff were friendly, professional and charming, this theme continued with beautifully prepared and delicious food. The portions were perfect and our waitress was so accommodating when we wanted to share our food. Would highly recommend this restaurant, especially if you need to consider vegetarian or pescatarian diners.

Dux dine is a great restaurant for a special occasion with very well prepared food and professional yet friendly service.
Best seafood chowder I've had in a very long time and my family enjoyed perfectly cooked Bluff Oysters that were fresh in.
We enjoyed a very pleasant early dinner.
