The title of this review says it all, really.

Following is an assortment of words and phrases and sentences to describe some of the highlights.

Best heritage rose garden we've ever seen - and we've visited many around the world. It was the best time of year to see them. Colour. Rambling roses. Peonies. Clematis. Pure joy.

There's also a rose garden with more modern roses. Nicely laid out. Name boards. Pretty.

Water garden also excellent. Great gunnera.

Massive trunk eucalypts.

Conservatory in separate sections. Again, one of the better examples seen.

Gardens also have a restaurant, toilets, great gift shop, playground.

A stream running through. Punts.

Lots of pathways to explore.

A top place to visit.

Absolutely delightful place, had a walk with some friends and took in the scenery, had a meal afterwards and ended my day with a nice cold beer. well marked trails, plenty of variety and very fresh.

One of the perfect Gardens in New Zealand. A magical place to wander and enjoy nature. Make sure to visit the rose garden, wander along the Avon river or picnic on the expansive lawns.

Beautiful gardens, free entry, peaceful and tranquil. On a sunny day take a picnic. Lots of benches, bird song fills the air.
Well worth a visit time allowing.

We were so lucky to visit on a beautiful sunny late spring day, unfortunately we had missed the daffodils but the gardens are stunning......a little bit of England abroad!
