One of the perfect Gardens in New Zealand. A magical place to wander and enjoy nature. Make sure to visit the rose garden, wander along the Avon river or picnic on the expansive lawns.

Beautiful gardens, free entry, peaceful and tranquil. On a sunny day take a picnic. Lots of benches, bird song fills the air.
Well worth a visit time allowing.

We were so lucky to visit on a beautiful sunny late spring day, unfortunately we had missed the daffodils but the gardens are stunning......a little bit of England abroad!

We had a lovely afternoon in the gardens.we rode on the Catterpillar .This is a vehicle with a driver /guide which drives slowly around the gardens stopping at various places e.g. hot house ,roses, trees of interest etc .Very informative about history of
the gardens types of plants and various wildlife e.g. ducks etc.
The gardens have a lovely cafe or you can picnic in the grounds.

We passed a very pleasant morning wandering through these delightful gardens enjoying nature at its best and listening to the river and the birds. A lovely green lung in the city. Well worth a wander.
