As expat locals who have recently moved back to NZ we spent some time in our old stomping ground of Blenheim. It’s is finally so good to see a restaurant taking the food scene to the next level in this area which is dominated by wineries and cafes that open for daytime trade. We were blown away by the all aspects of Arbour. Brad and Liz have created an experience that must be tried to be appreciated. The decor is simple yet sophisticated with a beautiful outlook onto the gardens which I imagine would be bustling in summer. The greeting was perfect. We had the ‘Many’ menu (degustation) washed down with two beautiful wines from a superb wine list - crafted to include local delights and a few gems like the ‘old weka pass Pinot noir’ available on allocation only (we definitely got that bottle!). These gems make a wine list that is a highlight in itself. Each dish of the Many was well explained, dishes were proportionate to the amount you would normally eat - we left the restaurant feeling nicely full not too much, not too little. The food was beautiful to look at and precisely plated - very photogenic food, even more flavoursome. Each dish had three key ingredients that were highlighted to bring the best flavor and experience of that ingredient, mix with the other two and party on your palate. Please forgive me I cannot remember each individual dish however I can tell you each dish was divine. A great display of restraint to not overpower or lose the essence of the ingredients, and a great cohesion of flavors. Thank you for making our fifth wedding anniversary a memorable experience from the greeting to the goodbye. We will definitely be back.

We picked this restaurant to celebrate my husband's birthday and also to end our 3 weeks trip in South New Zealand. The restaurant is outside the town, the sign is not too outstanding, had to watch for it.There is no sign at the door, but the interior is very simple, quaint and homey. We arrived before 6:00, so we could have the special: pay for 3 courses but have 4 courses. Each dish was very delicious, the ingredients were very fresh and home grown. The plating was good also and so was the service. But overall the dishes were a bit more salty, but New Zelanders loved salty food and we understood it. One of the best meal we had in New Zealand. Totally filled and satisfied. Highly recommended.

We have been meaning to visit Arbour since arriving on Marlborough 18 months ago but somehow the opportunity never came around.
So many people have recommended Arbour and as foodies ourselves - had very high expectations and hoped we wouldn’t be disappointed.
We weren’t! In fact it was even better than we expected. We had the 3 course menu without wine match - but selected the spectacular 2011 Dog Point Chardonnay to accompany dinner.
This is a seriously good restaurant with service that is right up there with the very best fine dining restaurants of note, and then there’s the food ..... just spectacular. Perfect portion size, exquisitely presented and clearly made with love.
We can not recommend this experience enough if travelling to Blenheim. It surpassed our expectations in every way! Well done guys.
