This is a restaurant/Cafe/Garden
I must have driven past this place scores of times. Usually stately home to cafe conversions result in mediocre expensive food so I just whizz by. However as we were in Winchester at snack time we decided to try it.
Hmm! It was one of the nicest pit stops we have had. The tea room has outside tables so as we had a dog we sat in the Garden. It is a most tranquil spot, with a small stream, full of ducks flowing down the boundary, and the tables are on terraces surrounded by plants and sculptures.
Really interesting food, made with care and love and priced competitively towards the "reasonable" end of the scale. Great coffee.
Finished off with a walk through the grounds. The current owners are relativly new so if you havn't been for a while it's worth another look.
We loved it.More
