Perfect stay for a couple of nights with daughter. Loved the quirkiness of the building and rooms. Very personable and caring staff and perfect location for city shopping and Harbourside bars and restaurants. Will definitely be back.

Large room, helpful staff and great location. Olde world charm, with high celings. Appreciated that the staff put in the extra bed for my son too. Central location on the nice side of town, walking distance to main attractions of The Beehive, Te papa etc

Lovely comfy bed, awesome staff. Very old worlde decor in the hotel area. Food and drink in the restaurant lovely. Pity it doesn't open this facility at the weekend. When the bar and food area open there were lots of people there. The room fridge was in a cupboard and fridges let off lots of heat from their motors, they need to remove the cupboard door, my only grudge. The hotel was less than a block from the first bar/restaurant then it was shops and more shops. Lovely area to walk in. Very nice laid out and laid back. Went to WOW and also to the Opera house. Unless you booked the restaurants were hard to get into but after 7.30pm when people had gone to their shows it was easier. All in all, I would book into this hotel again.

Room Tip: Was on 2nd floor, only saw our room and we only used it to shower and sleep

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I am very glad you enjoyed our olde worlde charm and our helpful staff. I will take a look at the fridge, it is probably not used to the warmer weather we are finally having. We look forward to looking after you again in the future.

Staying here now. Frustrated can't get the TV to work. Front desk closes at 4pm. Even the after hours person did not know how it works. Air con, could not turn the fan down so it was blasting air. Not a fan of the noise from the lift either. Very small room. Overpriced. If there was two of us the bed trapped against the wall would have been a nightmare. Check out on Monday. The only restaurant/cafe is closed on the weekends.

Room Tip: Only view is of the middle of the spare space. Gross as there are used cigarettes on the ledge.

Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. I have taken a look at the TV and it is working now so I'm not sure what happened during your stay. I have informed the night manager and shown her how to make sure it is working. The air con units fan will go at full speed until it reaches the set temperature. The room you were staying in is our only single room which is why it is much smaller than the rest of our rooms

Wonderful little hotel. Clean and comfortable. Nice friendly staff! Tastefully decorated while keeping the original theme. Restaurant was also first class.
Will definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends.
