Honda House is a bed and breakfast in Wellington, N.Z. run by the Rural Women organization. It is a bit of a step back in time to guest houses of the 1970's. It was set up to provide organization members a place to stay near the national governmental complex. It also accepts regular guests.
Most of the rooms use shared bath and toilet facilities. There is also a kitchen available to guests, and a pleasant lounge. The accommmodations are comfortable, but dated. A cold breakfast is served, with an array of fruits, cereals, and hot or cold beverages.
It was within walking distance of downtown Wellington and a short bus ride to the Te Papa national museum. Honda House is very close to an exit on the expressway. Be sure to look for the yellow finger post sign on Hawkestone Street as the accommodation is back in a small cul-de-sac.
The cost was very reasonable and the staff was friendly and helpful.
