We intended to drive straight to the Huka Falls but the Sat Nav took us to a car park for the start of the tracks and by the time we realised it was too late (Sat Nav users watch our for this possibility). We had a wheelchair and the track wasn’t suitable for this, but after a struggle over a few hours we got there. While very difficult for us to negotiate with the wheelchair (for those able to walk OK it would be quite an easy walk), it was nevertheless a nice picturesque walk with the spectacular falls at the top (where this a nearby car park!). Excellent and recommended for those who can walk. No special navigation skills required as the river is adjacent/close by throughout and the track is obvious.

Approx 200,000 gallons of water per second rushes through this gorge and it is well worth a visit to see and hear the the power of it. Very impressive indeed. Could have watched for a much longer period. Bus had to keep going. The colour of the water is aqua blue. A must see. There are walks along the falls.

The shear amount of water with its turquoise colour thrashing about in a narrow gorge is impressive. The natural beauty contradicts the massive forces of the water hurrying its way thru the gorge is mesmerizing. Go see it...take to take in the sounds... and just thing about what happening before you eyes. Miss it and you will have a great spectacle

Took a spontaneous trip to Huka Falls with family one afternoon. Had the best time. Although you can't do much but view the waterfalls, it was still worth making the trip for. Such beauty and power, one can't help but be humbled by nature's grandeur.

Hula falls is a must see if you visit Taupo. It is beautiful. And the other thing is it is only 2.5 km from the city centre and is easily accessible
