Haka Falls.
The start of the Mighty Waikato River.
I love this place and it's a free attraction too.
A must see when in the Taupo area.
Do it!

We walked to Huka Falls from town from Spa Road. It takes about an hour to walk to the Falls and you follow the river all the way. It is a lovely walk and lots of opportunities to take some nice photos. The Falls themselves are fantastic. The colour is an amazing blue and the sheer power of them is immense. they aren't very big but well worth visiting. There are also some natural hot springs near the park at Spa Road, well worth spending some time relaxing in them, although they are very popular.

The walk is short and the view is pretty spectacular.

If you have kids with autism that don't handle loud noises then perhaps give it a miss.

The coach stopped to let us walk over to the falls and see the spectacle of the waters roaring down the gorge
