Enjoyed our second visit to Craters of the Moon.
Inexpensive and great camera shots.
The Craters are changing and new Geyser opened recently.

Awesome unbelievable scenery. Have not seen anything like this before.
Definitely worth the time to visit, was restricted on time because we were cruising but certainly could easily have spent much more time there

Its like being on an alien planet . The whole scene is surreal , if a bit oderous . Billowing steam , bubbling mud , hissing & spitting & that was just the kids !! Ha Ha no , it was the fissures .

When I first visited the place many years ago it was pretty much a paddock and some trails around, and you hoped the car would still be there when you got back.
Now though it’s all changed and for the better. There is proper sealed parking, and a shop and people that manage it! It is now a paid attraction but 20 bucks for a family is pittance compared to some places...
The whole area is now a board walk trail. No more having to mind your step for fearing of being consumed by hot steamy ground.
The site is ever changing and some areas haven’t got a lot of activity whilst other areas are very active. We flukes the trip where they had just completed new track up to the most active cent. And oh wow that vent is really noisey and hot. I couldn’t take any pics of it as camera just fogged up immediately.

I like the attraction and what has been done to make it more friendly. Very enjoyable

We decided to make a quick visit here on a whim. On arrival we were greeted by warm and enthusiastic staff who gave us a brief intro to the site, some top tips and what to expect.

The craters are AMAZING! We'd never seen anything like it before and were just memorized. The site is well laid out with great viewpoints and info points.

The new path up to the new thermals is amazing and well worth the small climb.

Highly recommend this wee gem. Huge thanks to the lovely team!
