We had the same excellent food experiences as described repeatedly in other reviews. The current pilaf rice 'base option' was very special. The prices were great with no main more than $24. Desserts, at $14 a pop for a variation on icecream, didn't feel as good value.
This is a small restaurant with 40 covers that I could count. That makes it noisy (or buzzy, depending on your perspective). Those a bit hard of hearing may struggle. On a Tuesday night the place was full by 7pm and at times the staff were struggling. For some periods there was just one waitress who appeared to be covering all the tables. My wife and I are former hospo workers so really felt for her, as this isn't a fair workload. Nevertheless, she managed to stay friendly throughout.
But as a result of the workload, it took nearly 20 minutes to take our order, and our request for dessert menus was forgotten and had to be followed up. At the next table, there were two order mixups. It took nearly 80 minutes for two courses, which was a bit tight given that the booking engine warned us repeatedly that we had only 85 minutes for our meal before they would want the table back. Didn't detract from our overall meal as we weren't in a hurry, but enough to deliver a four star review instead of a five star one.
