“Lovely place, great service, private spa bath”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2011

Stayed with my husband and teenage daughter. Staff was great, very friendly, gave good tips on restaurants, activities (and booked activities for us). Loved the thermal spa attached to the bath (open to the stars). Very clean. Would stay here again! We particularly enjoyed the Skyline Luge, Rotorua Museum, local thermal springs, and Mitai Maori Village evening.

The overall place was a little on the small size, i.e. the parking is a little close and the rooms are 'compact', BUT, they have done the rooms out really well! There everything you need, including a dinning table, and a reading chair. Everything was very comfortable. The 'spa' was not what I expected, it was basically a step outside that you can put hot water into. My wife loved it, but being the size I was, I didn't even try to get in it.

Over all, I would stay here again, the location is excellent, the staff were amazingly friendly and helpful and it was a very pleasant room.

I absolutely LOOOOVED my stay here, me and my partner! Would recommend to anybody wanting a cheap but AWESOME place to stay. Me and my partnerr walked EVERYWHERE, we only caught a taxi once. The supermarket is right across the road, the shopping centre is literally a 2 minute walk, food stores are 2minutes away. The owners were absolutely amazing. The private spa was my favourite thing about the whole place. We will definitley be back to Victoria Lodge as soon as we can. Thanks so much for your amazing hospitality!!

Accommodation for a family of 5 can be tricky to get for a good price and we found the Victoria lodge met our needs perfectly. Whilst very 'compact' they are warm, CLEAN and central. The owner/manager was really helpful and recommended to go out of town 20mins to the hot pools as they were better for the kids . She was right.
The rooms had a flat screen tv in each bedroom (we stayed in the two beddie) and also a dvd and tv in the lounge. They weren't the most sound proofed bedrooms we've ever encountered, but with mostly families staying we must have all been like minded in keeping the noise to a minimum when it counted! Put it this way, it never kept us awake!
It was lovely to come back to have the beds made, fresh towels and the dishes done (I didn't realise they were serviced so felt a little bad about leaving dishes!)
We would certainly re-book and stay again.

We had a lovely stay at Victoria Lodge - we even decided to extend a night because we were having such a nice time in Rotorua. The thermal pool outside the bathroom was great for us Queenslanders. You can't beat the location either! A 5minute walk and you are in town already.
