Stayed at the Kingsgate for two nights in May 2016. As two couples travelling together we were offered a two bedroom unit at a very reasonable price. The unit was spacious and clean and we certainly didn't feel like we were encroaching on each other's privacy. The view from our unit was spectacular. Staff were extremely obliging and friendly which added to a pleasant stay. The hotel was very centrally located, within a short distance from the town centre. Lucky for us there was a country music festival around the area which also added to the enjoyment of our stay. Well recommended!!

A group of four went to dinner. My husband and I had fish and chips the salad was nice but the fish was meant to have tempura batter it was thick and oily the chips were also oily . My husband and I decided to share a Eton mess there was three pieces of meringue that was hard as a rock I had to cut it with a knife it had a little strange tasting berry sauce and that was it on the plate ! I had to ask for some whipped cream even with the cream it was not edible .
Another person at our table had a lamb shank he said he enjoyed his meal he also had sticky date pudding which he also enjoyed.
The other person ordered wild mushroom fettuccine which looked like it had button mushrooms in it so we asked what wild mushrooms were used in the fettuccine we were told they were wild button mushrooms we have never heard of wild button mushrooms . It was not tasty at all. She also had a Eton mess which was also left on the plate as it was not edible.
All in all a very disappointing meal .

Thank you for your feedback we appreciate feedback in any form as it allows to work on areas that we need to improve on and shows us where are strengths are. Our new Winter A La Carte menu has just started at the beginning of the month and from reading your comments we have some fine tuning & training still to be done. Should you wish to discuss further our Regional Executive Chef would be happy to hear from you as he strives on perfection and would like to see the above rectified.

Nice place fantastic location!
Room was very tidy and modern.
Staff also very friendly and helpful giving a lot of advice about what to do and see around the town. Would be happy to return here in the future.

Rooms were clean and tidy, and at a reasonable rate. Walking distance to the shops, restaurants, market etc.Evening meal had very little choice. And noise of very large loud family in the pool below was a bit annoying.
