Marine Parade has developed into a first-class area to spend time with family and friend. Thee are lovely garden areas, and great playgrounds for children’s activities, as well as the aquarium. You could spend several hours here with the family.

We took our fish and chips and then strolled along the walkway till about 9pm. It is a lovely evening walk and the many picnix tables meant we easilery found one for our fish and chip diner.

What a great surprise to find the recent developments on the Marine Parade. We loved the coloured light fountains, the new seating and the well placed shelter fences. We played petanque on areas with fine shingle, walked, and enjoyed another warm fine Napier evening. This was our first visit to this part of the Marine Parade in a long time. Lovely!

This long platform extends out into the water. It gives one a nice perspective of the water while feeling safe.

I am certain the overhang has some significance, but it was not apparent nor mentioned on any signs around the area.

Having grown up on the New Jersey shore, where wharfs and piers are common, this one was not particularly interesting, but if one has not had oceanside living experiences, it will be of appeal.

Lovely walkways, gardens and fountains weave through areas to suit all. Skating rinks and bowls and a number of excellent playgrounds are along the marine parade as well as ice cream parlours, mini golf and coffee carts. If you are costing Napier a walk down the marine parade and back is a must . At the bluff hill end there is an excellent salt water pool complex where you can bathe /swim overlooking the ocean.
