Wow wow wow. This was our first stop into Napier and man are we glad we stopped! Bailey, our waitress you were amazing! A true asset to this business. We were able to sample wines and have a good laugh. We then moved on to a lovely setting to enjoy some snacks and we loved all of them. Mussels 10/10, Pork spring rolls 10/10, Wonton 10/10, chicken pieces 10/10. Truly loved this place and will definitely be on my list to visit again in the future!!

The food here is great - love the pork spring rolls! Garlic prawn dish fab; calamari cooked to perfection; platters great for sharing.
Setting is pretty relaxed (love the open fire in winter) and outdoor courtyard on a sunny day is very pleasant.
However.... service batting a zero - 4 visits within eight months and each visit had it's problems (not with the food!). Long waiting times to get either drinks or bread/entrees - in two visits neither drink nor food arrived after 45mins of placing order. Two visits the wait staff lost our entire order so we had to start all over again. Two of the side dishes we ordered were delivered to the table as the totally wrong menu item. The offer was made to either leave them on the table or return to the kitchen then await the correct sides. We gave up and cancelled the side dishes as mains would've been finished before the accompanying sides arrived.
Paying the bill can be very hit and miss - suggest you closely check before paying.
It's a great shame that with the good food the place is let down by wait staff who just aren't up to the job (even though they are attentive and friendly when placing orders) or perhaps it is the systems in place that need to be overhauled....

We had lunch with friends at CF yesterday (and 2 children). It is very chilled out, rustic and laid back in regards to atmosphere which is great for a lazy Sunday lunch. The kids were catered to with colouring in materials and a kids menu and the regular menu was excellent with a good variety to choose from. Likewise the wine list...all the wines are CF wines from memory but there seemed to be a good number of many different varietals to chose from.
We started with prawn wontons and spring rolls to share. There were very nice but could have done with being a bit crispier. We also had beer battered fries....great fries! 3 people had the pork belly and all said it was great. I had the scallops which was a lovely dish but could have done with a bit more dressing or sauce. Beautiful big fresh scallops though so I thoroughly enjoyed the dish. A few of us had dessert....mostly the Molten Chocolate Cake (incl myself) and this was divine. The service was good too. The only minor problem we had at the end (and our friends have encountered this before at CF) were some items on the bill that shouldn’t have been there. To their credit this was sorted out without fuss AND they then gave us a bottle of wine by way of apology!! Excellent PR...well done Crab Farm. There was live music on whilst we had lunch and the musician (guy playing guitar and singing) was excellent. We will definitely back!
