Wow what a beautiful building...really surprised to see this Art Deco fronted building as a Quest residence. On arrival we were greeted by a lady called Fiona ( we think) who was the best host and the check in was almost like meeting an old friend we were so warmly welcomed which included a run down of local attractions and all that was available in the hotel. The room was large and warm with just the amount of comfort for a one off stop. As I said the stay was memorable for the first class welcome from the staff.....highly recommended and a great place to stop on our British and Irish Lions tour.

Room Tip: Higher floor overlooking the car park was nice and quiet.

Upon our arrival we were nicely welcomed (without any fuss) and shown how get into the carpark and our room. The car lift was a new experience for me - but easy to use and locating the car on the second level gave me a feeling of greater security for the vehicle. The room was compact but had everything you would need for a short stay. A supermarket was nearby and the main street of Napier only a couple of hundred metres away (all within easy walking distance) There was a lovely reading room next to the entrance where you could get good complimentary expresso coffee. We will stay again next time we are in Napier.

Room Tip: The new rooms at the rear of the building

Arrived here on a Sunday from Gisborne as part of our tour of NZ.
Attentive staff who gave us a tour of the facilities including the car park. There is a charge but the car was going to be parked for the couple of days we were here.
Comfortable room, no view but contrary to other reviews there was a new air conditioning unit.
They have been up dating rooms.
Studio apartment with basic cooking equipment, adequate for us.
Easy reach of town centre and supermarket.
Staff very helpful in pointing us in the right direction for attractions, eating places etc

Having spent 3 nights here, 3rd floor, overlooking carpark, I had no real complaints. There is a lift in the hotel. The room was warm, clean and most of what you would need was supplied, except a shower hat! King sized bed, most comfortable, the pillows needed upgrading, but OK The kitchen area, had a sink, microwave, small stove top, crockery, cutlery, tea & coffee facilities. Bathroom: plenty of hot water, warming towel rack, toiletries, towels were fine. No door on shower stall, which I found strange, just the shower curtain, so some water would escape on to the bathmat. Large window, letting in plenty of natural light with a pull down blind in bedroom area. Overhead fan, heating & cooling system on wall, dvd player, small tv, digital bedside clock radio and free WI-FI. The reception girls were very nice and helpful. The Quest is close to a small, pretty park, Clive Park I think it was called, and the Intercity Bus terminal is just behind the park, so handy for the Quest. There are 2 nearby Countdown (Woolies in Oz) supermarkets behind the Quest and a Pak n Save. Not far to walk to the seafront and shops, with plenty of cafes etc along the way. The accommodation rates are reasonable and I will return here to stay again as Napier is a beautiful city.
