We are fairly regular diners at Musashi - we also went regularly in its earlier reincarnation Eiji's. Over the years it has pretty much maintained its atmosphere and quality. The menu has changed over the years while still offering the Kiwi favourites in various guises. Teriyaki chicken anyone?! The teenagers were suddenly out for the evening so the wife (who is Japanese) and I decided to pop and see if we could get a table and order. As usual Musashi was busy but they could cram us in for 1 1/2 before a later reservation arrived. The sparkling sake was not too my taste (L&P?) so I went for my preferred Otokoyama. The service was fine, a young Kiwi boy trying his basic Japanese out on my wife. The agedashi tofu was good, the sashimi fresh, the soft shell crab tasty although a bit oily, the sushi was also good. All in all a nice and satisfying evening out.
