Sharaku is situated inside a building compound; signs are rather small for the location.
I love the Japanese feel of greetings & hot towels prior to a meal. For the 5-course dinner at Sharaku, we started with a trio of appetizers - interesting & enjoyable, but not particularly good in taste. Then came sushi & sashimi - again, nothing very special. Tempura which came next was better, with big fresh tiger prawn & very good kumara & pumpkin slices. Chawanmushi (steamed egg custard) was exceptionally good - so smooth & delicious. I had grilled eel for main which also came with miso soup & rice, while my wife had beef. Both were above average. The dessert was vanilla ice-cream with a piece of frozen blue berry & sesame biscuit - creative & outstanding.
