We went back to Cazador after an absence of a few years. We should have gone back sooner. The food is great and well presented. The staff know the menu well and offered wonderful advice on wine selections. Some of the food is a little outside your normal restaurant menu, but there was nothing overpowering.
Cazador is located in the suburbs, so it is an extra 5-10 min to get to from town but well worth the effort. And being in the suburbs it doesn't have a multi-million dollar view etc.
It does have an interesting well prepared menu with professional friendly staff. Well worth a visit

.. who had not been before. We all enjoy eating meat and the opportunity to dine at a restaurant with a focus on game really appealed. I have a vague recollection of having been to Cazador with a large group of friends and enjoying it some 15 or so years ago, but certainly had not been any time recently. We also had read some great reviews. We enjoyed the very pleasant private shady rear garden courtyard environment, which we had to ourselves.

Our expectations for the food didn't quite match with what we had, but not in a bad way...mainly in the sense that we were probably expecting simple generous hearty meaty flavours, and what we got was tasty game but served in a more subtle / refined / sophisticated style. The food was certainly tasty, despite being game, and in many cases offal, that we wouldn't normally have. We tried most of the dishes, sharing everything, as this is the best way to dine in my view.

For starters / entree course we shared a charcuterie board of cured meats, parfait and terrine, the poussin hearts and the smoked mussel pate. The favourites for me were the smoked mussel pate and the hare rillete. For mains we had the quail, venison and pasta. We were deliberating between the quail and the pork and took the very good staff recommendation - the quail was my favourite. To finish, we shared the chocolate dessert and the 'persian mess', both tasty, but possibly slightly oversold.

The staff were very friendly, suitably attentive, and happy to offer their advice and recommendations. The wines we selected with their assistance were great, and very drinkable, both on their own and with the food. The first bottle was the Quinta de Quercus Tempranillo, followed by the Fromm ‘Fromm Vineyard' Malbec. We finished with a glass of sherry each.

More than enough tasty food, and good value considering the two bottles of wine. Well worth a try for a tasty different food experience. Will certainly return again, but in a little while.

YUM! This place is amazing! If you like game meats and trying something different come here! I had the game meat entrée, hare main and the chocolate mousse for dessert. The entrée was big enough to have shared and the main was so tasty the hare so tender and the chocolate mousse, well I cant stop thinking how good it was - rich and silky. Service here was really friendly as well the whole experience was great.

4 of us went on Saturday night for the 8pm sitting. 3 of us had 3 courses and 1 had 2 courses and every dish was delicious. We had to wait for our table so had a drink in the bar along with a tasty little snack compliments of the chef - a very good start to the evening. All the glassware and crockery is lovely. It was such a pleasure to drink my vermouth from a beautiful little glass just perfect for the drink and my sister's gin was in an equally perfect little glass.

I had Venison for my main which, in celebration of their 30th year of business, was cooked as it would have been 30 years ago and it was simply delicious and a very plentiful amount of meat and sauce. The other 3 mains were sole, guinea fowl and a shoulder of venison pasta dish. We were all very happy with our food.

The service was excellent, the decor is very interesting and in keeping with the 'game food' menu.

All in all the 4 of us agreed that we'd had an excellent dinner in an interesting setting with faultless service. I certainly recommend Cazador for people looking for a very good dining out experience. Booking is essential.

We went for birthday meal. Started with a shared charcuterie board which was superb, then onto char grilled venison, oxtail and duck. The food and accompaniments were first class. We do recommend the crispy potatoes and the radicchio salad. Service was friendly and efficient. Great experience to be recommended.
