Its a quirky little place near Britomart and even at 6:30 the place was buzzing. They can pack a lot of people into a small area but we weren't too uncomfortable. (But if you are after an intimate dinner this place is not for you.) First the cocktails - they are expensive, but if you are willing to splash out for something different these are not your usual fare. I can recommend the Xuxu Martini - refreshing fruity with a peppery after bite, and the Harajuku Dreaming - plum wine and marmalade flavours. There is a good selection of wine and beer available for the less adventurous. Obviously you have to like dumplings if you are going to eat here. They are reasonably priced and arrive pretty quickly, freshly steamed in stacked baskets. We had the prawn and ginger which were delicious and the steaming pork buns which were a bit harder to eat but very tasty. The surprise of the evening was choc fondant dumplings, a delicious concoction of chocolate and walnut in a sticky dumpling - who knew!
