Average hostel. Fine for one or 2 nights but not the best. Kitchen facilities were very poor and always dirty. Would not stay here again. If you are getting the bus into Auckland it is pretty far from the bus station and up a huge hill if your backpacking. Much better options available

During last 3 years my favourite Auckland YMCA hostel rised the price for single room from 13€ to over 50€ for 1 night. Therefore I was trying to find another place to stay, but cheaper if possible.I have chosen K Road City Travelers.
It has great location just on the K´road, good bed, bathroom ok (some mold on the ceiling), quiet during night, helpful reception staff - possibility to print something (like boarding pass etc.).

We've been in this hostel when gun's 'n roses were in town and there was no other free hostel. We knew it was bad that's why we were'nt shocked and it wasn't as bad as we thaught. It's just pretty dark in there, dirty and doesn't smell very good. Bring your own bed sheet or inlet then you don't have to sleep in contact with a dirty bed. And the hostel is very close to the next dance floor that's why it's very loud until 4 a.m.. But the time went over and we could leave to see prettier places.

At last a good thing about the hostel: There was a cool dude staying there who worked in the (very nice and cozy) café under the hostel who gave us two cupcakes! Thank you for that!

Room Tip: Stay at the rare side of the bulding!

Ugh, we booked this hostel on the weekend of The Guns 'n' roses concert because basically everything else was full. Let me say first, yes, we survived but no it definitely isn't the best option whilst in Auckland... rooms and beds are not clean, neither are the toilets and it is just so noisy at night. Stayed there two nights and were honestly glad to have been so groggy from the jet lag. Otherwise it would have been very hard to get through the two days there...

I stayed here 5 nights. The only goods things about this hostel is the emplacement (crossing between K Road and Queen Street, the two mains streets of Auckland) and the wifi (very good).
The kitchen is too small (only 2 hobs for cooking in the second floor), same for the dinner room. The common area are not clean. It's very nosy (from the inside and the outside) specially the night.
